Hi, I’m Val!

I’m Valentina, a colombian girl in love with Mexico and traveling. I’m on my first remote job so I plan to keep traveling every once and then.

I’m really passionate about everything that is travel related, specially the randomness of it and the people and places you get to meet. I always have adventures to tell and also to explore wherever I am.

Right now I can’t offer a place to host travelers cause I live with other people but I want to do it one day soon, to share my space with fellow travelers around the world.

I’ve been using CS since 2019 when I was an exchange student in Mexico, mainly for hangouts but also sometimes to find hosts. I’m a huge mess with references cause after I meet someone we keep talking in others apps and totally forget about leaving a comment in CS. My bad I know. Nonetheless I do have amazing friendships, with whom I’ve traveled in Mexico, the US and Colombia

I hope to visit more countries these years and keep making lasting and meaningful friendships over here.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I have traveled a lot trying to find local experiences but the accommodations always end up being a hello and goodbye without much interaction. When they recommended me couchsurfing I loved the more human idea and the real treatment between travelers and curious people of the world

Interests

Museums, archeological sites, restaurants, natural reserves.

I’ve been doing film photography the last 5 years, nothing professional thought. But every time I go to a new place im either with my Zenit or my Minolta looking to capture something.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lately I’ve been obsessed with Caribbean colombian music. I also like indie rock, bossanova, jazz, rock. A lot of mix and match!

I’m also a cinephile, at least I think I am. I had two film clubs with some friends in the pandemic and I got to watch amazing movies from so many countries. I do have an interest in Latin American movies and the stories made in this part of the world. Ask me for movie recommendations, I mean I’m not an expert but i know some stuff :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Besides backpacking to Machu Pichu with some friends, I really amazed myself for traveling on my own to different places in 2022 and 2023. I also got to randomly meet with someone in three different cities in less than a month. That was nice.
